Wait for Me - Tak x Cay Fanfic Chap 1

Chapter 1

Cayenne bit her lip as she tried to reload as fast as she could. Being in this situation with a horde of zombies coming after you isn’t exactly the best.  Luckily, Takeo had the scene…somewhat under control.
“Hurry up woman!” Takeo yelled at her as he continued keeping the zombies back.
The French soldier growled a bit, “Keep your pants on! This gun takes a bit to reload!”
Once she finished reloading, Cay joined Takeo in the shooting-of-the-zombies. Within a minute or so, the room was clear. They looked around at the corpses. There was moaning in another room.
“Might as well get them all,” the man said and glared at Cayenne when he saw her reloading again, “What are you doing?”
“I obviously got a bad deal. The gun not only reloads slowly, but it needs to be reloaded after a few minutes.”
Takeo shook his head, “It’s sad to see such a dishonorable choice you had made. I’m going on to the next room.”
He started to make his way to the next horde. Cay started to rush, but being the crappy gun it was; she was only reloading slower.
“T-Tak!” She called, “I’m almost done! Don’t go alone! Wait for me!”
He was already out of her sight. She swore under her breath and finished putting in the new round. The zombies’ moaning got louder and there was a loud thud following with a groan. ‘Dammit Tak.’ Cayenne thought as she ran towards the group of zombies. They were all circling around Takeo, clawing and biting at him.
“Back off you rotting, freaks of nature!” the girl fired at the horde, which now targeted her.
When she ran low on bullets, she threw the gun to the ground and got out her knife. Cay slashed and stabbed the zombies that got in her way until there was nothing but a crawler.
“This is as much mercy you will ever get,” She mumbled as she kicked it away from Takeo.
She looked down upon her fallen comrade. His uniform seemed to be somewhat intact. But you can see where they had clawed him and it was stained with his blood.
Cay sighed and kneeled down by Takeo, “I told you to not go alone, Taks.”
Takeo growled and sat up. He winced and held his side in pain.
“Easy there Takeo,” Cayenne reached into her pocket and pulled out some wrappings that she had stolen when she was a nurse.
As she tried to unbutton the first button of the top of his uniform, he got a grasp of her wrist, “What are you doing!?” (Aaah~! Cockblock… Figured someone would get the wrong idea.)
The French woman blinked a few times, “Takeo, it’s okay. I promise not to do anything ‘dishonorable’. I can’t put the wrap over your clothes. It has to go under them.”

       She used her other hand to grab his and lightly put it to his side. She continued what she was trying to do and unbuttoned his shirt and undershirt. Cay got out the wrap and lightly pressed the end around, but not on, one of the wounds. Takeo tensed a bit from a small, sharp pain. Cayenne looked up at him and gave a soft smile, saying she was trying her best not to hurt him. She wrapped the bandage around his torso and ripped it in half. She tucked the end under the previous round.  Cay also wrapped the wounds on his arm.
“There,” She put his shirts back on, “Hopefully they’ll heal quickly.”
Takeo sat back up. Cayenne put out her hand to help him up. Being the person who didn’t really want assistance, he got up slowly and held onto his side.
“Let’s go,” He began to walk off, “The others are probably wondering where we are.”
Cayenne sighed and whispered to herself, “Takeo… I know you want to keep your honor, but that doesn’t give you a good reason to go off and get hurt. That wouldn’t of happened if you would just wait for me.”
